2024 Wudang Sacred Mountain Ancestral Pilgrimage and Taiji Journey
Nine Days in Xi’an and Wudang Mountain, People’s Republic of China (21/10/2024 – 29/10/2024)

Wudang Shenghong Health Preservation Centre (Singapore) was blessed by the Wudang Mountain lineage, which nurtured and guided the growth of over 3,000 disciples in Singapore practicing Wudang Sanfeng Taiji.

In response to the heartfelt wishes of overseas disciples to connect with their roots and honour their Taiji ancestors, the institute’s Director, Mr Tan Thiam Lye, led a group of 80 students from the San Feng Taiji class on a pilgrimage to the sacred Wudang Mountains. The group engaged in cultural exchanges, visits, and learning opportunities throughout the journey.

During the pilgrimage, the students visited Zi Xiao Palace (Purple Cloud Palace) to pay homage to the Supreme Heavenly Highest Deity (Xuan Tian Shang Di) and met with representatives from the Wudang Taoist Association.

In addition, the Lorong Koo Chye Sheng Hong Temple Association has long maintained friendly relations with the Xi’an Cheng Huang Temple and the Wan Shou Eight Immortals Palace in Xi’an. Before traveling to Wudang Mountain, Director Tan Thiam Lye and the Taiji students visited these Taoist temples in Xi’an to deepen these ties.

Visit to Wudang Middle School

The delegation also visited Wudang Middle School, where both sides sent representatives to demonstrate Taiji, Kungfu Fan routines, and other martial arts, showcasing the essence and beauty of Wudang Kungfu.

At the event, Director Tan Thiam Lye remarked: “Wudang martial arts are deeply rooted in culture and help improve both physical health and mental well-being. We are committed to strengthening our collaboration with Wudang, promoting the spread of Wudang health-preserving techniques, and contributing to greater cultural exchange between the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of Singapore.”
